ABOUT EMMA
I am a wife and a mother of 3 boys and a girl. I have 6 siblings in which I am the second eldest. I have also have a stepdaughter and three grand babies.
Music has been a big part of my life from a very young age. I had a Mum that loved to sing and encouraged me in my music abilities. Like my Grandmother, I followed in her footsteps and learned to play the Piano.
In the beginning I played by ear and was often found at a piano after church meetings. My mum taught me how to read music and then got me into private piano lessons. As I had a strong background in music and could already read music notation, my piano teacher put me straight into the ABRSM exam syllabus. I took lessons from the age of 10-16 and completed up to Grade 5 in exams.
I spent, many years only really using my musical talents at church. At Christmas time I played for our Carol Concert and enjoyed playing for Weddings and Funerals.
It has always been a dream of mine to be a piano teacher. I am excited to be back on my musical journey personally and professionally. I am invested in improving myself as a teacher so I can be the best teacher I can be to my students.
"Emma is extremely helpful, approachable and supportive in her teaching. She teaches myself, my son and my husband all at different stages. - at our home each week (and via Zoom during lockdown). We are all loving our lessons and would definitely recommend Emma, particularly if you are a nervous beginner."
